Location:
Community
We ran the Amazin' Race mainly outside.

Program Purpose:
Creating a fun educational environment which produces purposeful movement that is unexpected by the participants.

Program Key Features:
It is not actually a program, but an annual conference. The Amazin' Race (team race event) in the evenings is designed to get the conference participants moving instead of sedentary in the evenings. We combine local cultural activities with the medical training aspects of emergency medicine that are taught during the day in the conference to design a race, that is fashioned after the reality TV show, "The Amazing Race".

Most Excited About:
The amount of participants wanting to participate was the most exciting aspect. The demand to participate was so high that we had to run it twice so that everyone could participate and the conference evaluations indicate that they want to do it again.

Oklahoma Native American EMS Association and the Oklahoma City Area Indian Health Service.
