Description
We had a great turnout at the kick-off event for our Traditional Gathering, we started off with a wonderful prayer given by one of our elders Ross Stone.
7 runners lead the pack - all local. The community stayed in a large group for the mile walk.
Everyone finished their mile long walk with smiles on their faces.
Best Features
All the smiling faces, getting together as a community.
Creative Features
We had awsome t-shirt made custom to our culture "Ya Vee" (hurry up) Paiute Nation with an hawks shadow over a drum.
Challenges
The route was a little challenging, I would say test out your route before you make others try it.
Lessons Learned
Everyone took care of each other and stayed together.
Future Plans
We are opening a wellness center and will contribute that way.
